with how the frontier labs are operating.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not just the man and woman on the street that is unhappy with the frontier labs, it&#8217;s in private, every single enterprise we deal with,&#8221; he told CNBC&#8217;s Sara Eisen on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<p>Many customers, he said, believe these companies don&#8217;t understand their businesses and only care about &#8220;tokenmaxxing,&#8221; or burning through AI tokens to signal productivity. <\/p>\n<p>Accelerating costs are raising alarm on Wall Street and fueling efficiency concerns as businesses funnel more AI into workloads and model costs rise. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is not that large language models aren&#8217;t crucial for the world,&#8221; Karp said. &#8220;It&#8217;s just the implementation is where the value is, certainly in the next seven years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Karp&#8217;s comments come as two of the leading large language model companies, Anthropic and OpenAI, take steps to go public. The Sam Altman-led ChatGPT maker said Monday it confidentially filed for an initial public offering, a week after Anthropic.<\/p>\n<p>He told CNBC that most of Anthropic&#8217;s public projects are &#8220;running on Palantir.&#8221; While he often disagrees with CEO Dario Amodei, he said the cofounder is &#8220;a very, very important person&#8221; who has caught up from behind.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<p>In recent years, Karp has made headlines for his outspoken political views and recently aligned himself with President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration, previously donating to campaigns of former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. <\/p>\n<p>Trump has also praised Palantir on Truth Social with the company&#8217;s ticker symbol and invested in its stock.
