Without progress from Tehran, Trump warned that &#8220;there won&#8217;t be anything left of them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil prices surged overnight following Trump&#8217;s comments, which signaled that the conflict could reignite.<\/li>\n<li>Stock futures meanwhile fell, setting up Wall Street for possibly another day of sizable losses.<\/li>\n<li>If that ends up being the case, it wouldn&#8217;t be the first time Trump&#8217;s comments led to big swings in the stock market: Fundstrat data shows the president has been the main driver of the S&amp;P 500&#8217;s five best and five worst days since he retook office.<\/li>\n<li>Despite Friday&#8217;s pullback, the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-10\">S&amp;P 500<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> was still able to eke out its seventh straight winning week \u2014 a first since 2023. <\/li>\n<li>Traders are also keeping an eye on the bond market after concerns about spiking energy prices pushed the <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-12\">30-year U.S. Treasury<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> yield to its highest level in almost a year.<\/li>\n<li>Follow live market updates here.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">2. As CNBC&#8217;s Jonathan Vanian and Julia Boorstin report, the ongoing cuts have created a feeling of dread among the Facebook parent&#8217;s workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Workers across the tech industry are watching stock prices soar while, at the same time, their employers are rapidly cutting heads: According to Layoffs.fyi, there have been almost 110,000 layoffs at 137 tech firms so far this year, already nearing the 125,000 cuts made in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>But Wall Street isn&#8217;t necessarily rewarding AI-related headcount reductions. A CNBC analysis found that among a basket of companies that recently announced layoffs due to AI, the majority of their stocks have dropped since the cuts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">5. There&#8217;s a good chance they&#8217;re in the Arizona desert.<\/p>\n<p>Companies like Nomadic Aviation Group have been tasked with getting Spirit&#8217;s yellow aircrafts from airports across the country to holding areas outside of Phoenix and Tuscon. As CNBC&#8217;s Leslie Josephs reports, unused or retired planes are typically stored in the desert because the climate reduces the likelihood of damage like corrosion. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not an unexpected development.
