The three major indexes gained yesterday and are on track for a positive week.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<p>Here are five key things investors need to know to start the trading day:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">1. The U.S. president told reporters aboard Air Force One this morning that he refused to answer when Xi asked him if the U.S. would defend Taiwan from an attack by China. &#8220;That question was asked to me today by President Xi. I said I don&#8217;t talk about that,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil prices are jumping after Trump said in a pre-recorded Fox News interview that China agreed to buy U.S. crude, though Beijing hasn&#8217;t confirmed the plans. <\/li>\n<li>The president said this morning that he would make a decision about lifting sanctions on Chinese companies that buy Iranian oil &#8220;over the next few days.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Trump also told Fox News that China would purchase 200 <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-10\">Boeing<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> jets, a smaller number than some on Wall Street expected.<\/li>\n<li>Xi reportedly told U.S. CEOs travelling with Trump \u2014 which included <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-11\">Tesla&#8217;s<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> Elon Musk, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-12\">Nvidia&#8217;s<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> Jensen Huang and <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-13\">Apple&#8217;s<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> Tim Cook \u2014 that the door to doing business in China will open wider.<\/li>\n<li>Trump invited Xi to visit the White House on Sept. 24. It was the U.S. technology sector&#8217;s largest initial public offerings in years.<\/p>\n<p>The stock&#8217;s surge on Thursday made Cerebras co-founders Andrew Feldman and Sean Lie billionaires, based on their stakes in the company. The day-one surge was also a win for Silicon Valley venture capitalists amid an IPO dry spell.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<p>Speaking of going public: Sources told CNBC that SpaceX&#8217;s IPO prospectus could drop as early as next week. Musk&#8217;s reusable rocket company is expected to start a roadshow aimed at marketing the deal to investors early next month, according to people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">3. As CNBC&#8217;s Emily Wilkins notes, it&#8217;s a big win for the cryptocurrency industry.<\/p>\n<p>The act, the first piece of legislation focused on crypto, would add oversight and guardrails to the new industry. However, banks, unions and law enforcement agencies have come out against the bill citing concerns that it would hurt consumers and financial systems. The Clarity Act, which was approved by the banking committee in a largely party-line vote, still needs to clear the full Senate as well as the House.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in crypto, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"SpecialReportArticle-QuoteInBody-35\">Gemini<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> unveiled a $100 million strategic investment from its owners&#8217; venture capital fund.
