startup Ineffable Intelligence. <\/p>\n<p>The startup is pursuing superintelligence and was founded in late 2025 by UCL professor and former lead of DeepMind&#8217;s reinforcement learning team David Silver. The seed round is the largest ever in Europe, according to the company, amounting to a valuation of $5.1 billion.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<p>The round was co-led by U.S. venture capitalists Sequoia and Lightspeed, with participation from <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-1\">Nvidia<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, DST Global, Index, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-2\">Google<span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"><\/span><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and the UK&#8217;s Sovereign AI Fund, among others. <\/p>\n<p>Ineffable Intelligence will focus on reinforcement learning, which is when AI models learn from experience as opposed to human data. That compares to many leading AI models that are trained on Internet text.<\/p>\n<p>Silver said the company is aiming to &#8220;transcend the greatest inventions in human history, such as language, science, mathematics and technology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our mission is to make first contact with superintelligence,&#8221; said Silver in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are creating a superlearner that discovers all knowledge from its own experience, from elementary motor skills through to profound intellectual breakthroughs,&#8221; he added. <\/p>\n<div style=\"height:100%\" class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"ArticleBody-subtitle\">Big Tech talent exodus fuels startup boom<\/h2>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Silver is one of several former top researchers at Big Tech companies that&#8217;ve jumped ship to launch their own AI labs in recent months, with investors funnelling billions of dollars into the ventures. <\/p>\n<p>Last week, a months-old startup called Recursive Superintelligence \u2014 founded by former Google DeepMind engineer Tim Rockt\u00e4schel \u2014 was reported by the Financial Times to be raising up to $1 billion.
